The Power of Letting Go

“Do not run away; let go. Do not seek, for it will come when least expected.” Bruce Lee

When we begin losing our grip of life, everything comes apart at the seams, and there is nothing to hold onto, life starts to get scary or so we think. Everything is a state of mind and a matter of perspective. When we start to realize that there are no “sure things” in life, no guarantees, nothing is stable or secure, and that change is the only constant, then we begin to embrace Freedom. The freedom of expectation, judgment, or definition sets us free.

A lot of the time when we are hanging on to the circumstances and people in our lives so tight with our grip; we tend to lock our jaw and hold our breath. Without oxygen flow we get disoriented, and we become irrational. Isn’t it funny how a lot of us live our lives in this state of being? I am in “control”, I am “keeping it all together”, I do not have anxiety or afraid of change (HA!). I want “this” forever, “you” are mine, I am comfortable, I am secure, I am stable. Are any of these statements true? When we grasp life and love with fierce resolve and desire of how it is supposed to be, we restrict the flow and become unable to receive the gifts of abundance all around us.

What if we were unattached, open to experiencing the sacredness of every interaction and each moment as a gift, truly receive, move and react from our hearts, and lead each step we take and word we speak with compassion? What if we opened to the wonder of the flow—the combined cosmic play of intent?  What if we allowed ourselves to dream again? What if we explored that which makes our hearts sing and our spirits dance? What is the prize we keep our eyes on? What if we could just BE? Could we start opening, melting, mingling into divine oneness, integrating into an inspired channel, and awakening to our true essence?

What holds us back? This is who I am. This is who I have chosen to be. This is who I was told I was.  What if we could create a new, I AM?  Insanity is doing the same behavior pattern yet expecting a different result. What if we tried a new way? Let go, start to breathe long, deep, and often without resistance, play more, dance like no-one is watching, laugh a lot, and take ourselves a lot less seriously!

Loosening our grip means we let go of the details and just know that everything will work itself out in due time. No need to fight it or push it or hurry it along. The great unfolding happens when we surrender our will to the divine will along with divine timing. Ripeness of fruition and manifestation comes from the proper elements nurturing growth, perfect gestation time, and the knowing spark of readiness to let go. There is a knowingness that this journey must end, change, transform, and catalyze a new form of expression. No ambition, no-where to go, nothing to be, nothing to digest, and no idea what will happen next. Only falling free into openness, all possibilities, all directions, endless expansion, and TRUSTING the process. This is a lesson of letting go.
