The Art of Deception

When there is a conflict, people play dirty. Trust no one. A contrary force does not have your best interest at heart and will mislead you to meet their ends. Never reveal your plans to the opposition because they will be used against you. A cunning attitude is a key element to every problem. Utilizing a feint diverts attention away from the direction of a strike. Say one thing and do another. Look one way and move the other. Act as if in retreat before an attack. Appear weak to lure someone in then, spring into action. Use off rhythm movements as an element of surprise to catch the foe off guard. Manipulating an adversary into position is fair game.

“All martial arts is simply an honest expression of one’s body—with a lot of deception in between. Bruce Lee

Outsmarting the opposition takes calculated measures of the enemy’s moves ahead of time. Study their every move to dissect the way they think and respond accordingly. Deception and truth are opposites. There is a time and place for both. Do not be a fool to think that everyone has got your back. No, this is not the case. No need to be paranoid. Be smart. Ask questions and understand others’ motivations. What does someone want from you? If there are no negotiations, then keep your cards close and deny disclosure.

“The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions.” Leonardo da Vinci
